Residential Trash and Recycling Services in the City of El Monte.
Three 95-gallon carts service single family homes.
Carts should to be placed out at the curbside on collection day. Customers please deposit trash in the brown cart, recyclables in the blue cart and yard waste in the green cart.
Brown carts for trash are picked up TWICE EVERY WEEK,Recycling & green waste carts ONCE EVERY WEEK.
On collection day the carts are placed at the curbside with the cart handles toward the home, wheels against the curbside, lids tightly closed and at least three feet away from any obstruction such as a fence, car or mailbox. Allow two feet between each cart lined up side by side. The carts must be at the curbside before 6 a.m. on your collection day.
Each cart is serviced separately, at different times of the day. Please be sure that your carts have been emptied before removing them from the curb.
If your cart is damaged or if you need additional carts, contact Phoenix Waste & Recycling Services at 866-699-7600. All carts have a lifetime guarantee. In most cases, damaged carts will be repaired or replaced at no charge. The new program will help to reduce, reuse and recycle.

Business Trash and Recycling Services in the City of El Monte
The City of El Monte has selected four (4) refuse haulers with special qualifications to collect refuse, implement recycling programs and provide environmental education and outreach to your business.
Please refer to the map below for your service provider.
Refuse will be handled in the same manner. Our field supervisors will tailor the recycling program to your needs. Outside you will have a WHITE BIN FOR ALL RECYCLABLES AND A BROWN BIN FOR REFUSE. For space limitations the white bin will be replaced with blue carts for recycling.
Multi family Trash and Recycling Services in the City of El Monte
The City of El Monte has selected two (2) refuse haulers with special qualifications to collect refuse and implement recycling programs.
REFUSE will be collected as usual. But now you get an easy and exciting recycling program tailored just for your building.
For a strong, effective recycling program every unit in the building will receive a waterproof-coated reusable woven-fabric bag made for multi-family recycling!
Use for storage and easy recycling carry out. Collect clean glass, plastic, aluminum, mixed paper, junk mail, newsprint & cardboard in these bags. Then walk them out to the recycling containers outside. One (1) bag will be distributed to each apartment unit. The recycling bag belongs to management and remains in the unit when the family moves out.
Outside your apartment building put all your Recyclables in the White Bin or if you have space restrictions YOU WILL RECEIVE BLUE CARTS instead of the White Bin.
