City of Huntington Park
Residential Waste Collection
On August 4, 2014, the City Council selected United Pacific Waste (UPW) as the new exclusive provider of solid waste services for the City of Huntington Park. UPW will take over residential waste services from Waste Management, and commercial solid waste services from Consolidated Disposal Services beginning January 1, 2015.
The owners and descendants of United Pacific Waste (UPW) have been involved in solid waste and recycling since 1913. Over 100 years later their legacy is still thriving. Worldwide, the focus on recycling continues to intensify. In our local communities recycling is embedded into every aspect of our lives from households and schools to restaurants and theaters to airports, banks and every major industry in between.

A Guided Tour
Three 95-gallon carts are serviced once a week for single-family and duplex homes. It is critical with today's increasing environmental requirements, dwindling landfill space and escalating operating costs that we shift our way of thinking. Consider conservation and recycling. The very first step in the recycling process is source separation. Source separation is when you keep all wet waste separate from the recyclables. To make it easy for you to separate wet waste from all recyclables UPW has provided carts for this purpose.
The Green Cart is for yard waste only. Please be careful, if you mix wet waste, food, or anything that touched food or trash in the green cart, we will not be able to recycle the yard waste.
The Blue Cart is for clean plastic, glass, bottles and cans, paper such as magazines, newspaper, junk mail and flattened cardboard. Please no food waste in the blue cart because it will contaminate the recyclables.
The Brown Cart is for trash. United Pacific Waste offers its residential customers a new and improved waste collection and recycling program. The new program will help to reduce, reuse and recycle. What do I put in the Brown Container?
